Snow Geese by the 100,000: Morning, Afternoon or All Day

Each March as many as 100,000 snow geese will gather at Middle Creek before heading north to their arctic breading grounds. Join nature photographer and instructor Sean Quintilian to learn techniques to capture frames of hundreds of geese taking off to that elusive single bird in flight shot. The morning session will capture the geese as the take of in groups of hundreds if not thousands of birds to head off and feed for the day. The afternoon shoot will catch them returning for the evening as well as numerous take-offs and landings as they strengthen their wings for the flight north.

Each session will have instruction for shooting birds in flight, proper support of large telephoto lenses and exposure tips for an all white subject. Other birds to capture may include Canada geese and tundra swans.

On this Safari you will learn from wildlife photographer Sean Quintilian techniques to capture the beauty of these birds and vast scale of this natural event. Attention will be paid to photographing birds in flight, from tight shots of an individual goose to edge to edge frames containing hundreds of birds.

So join Sean for the morning, the afternoon or all day. Full day will have a break from 11:00am till 1:00pm for lunch and rest.
We will meet at the visitor’s center at 5:45am in order to set up for sunrise and we will shoot through 11am , take a 2 hour break, and then resume a 1 pm, going to 6 pm. If you are taking the afternoon session only, meet at Visitor Center at 1 pm.
