Fun. Joy. Pride.

Taking good pictures is fun, makes you happy, and fills you with pride over the memory you have just created.  And now, with cell phones and cameras equipped with Wi-Fi, it is easier than ever to immediately share these images with friends and family.

Established in 1999, Washington Photo Safari™ is one of the nation’s leading providers of photography training field trips. We offer over 150+ unique itineraries, with two-hour, half-day, and full-day DC photo tours every week, all year long. These sessions are for photographers at any skill level with any kind of camera, digital or film.

See. Click. Learn.

That’s what we do for you at Washington Photo Safari. We help you see images in a new way, take you to new places, and help you improve your composition.

Then we guide as you click with any camera, whether it be your cell phone or a complex DSLR, helping you use all the features you paid for on your camera. And, yes, we give smartphone-friendly photo tours!

Finally, we review the pictures you have just taken, helping you learn from your mistakes, and giving you hands-on instruction as you retake the photos. We prefer to do this in the field, not in a classroom so that you learn by doing.

Highly Recommend!

I signed up for Washington Photo Safari to learn basic photography. I wanted to have fun doing it so I signed up and I made a great decision. David, the tour guide, knows photography and knows how to teach it and practices what he teaches. On top of that, he's lived in DC for 45 years and knows the city and will share all of its secrets with you.

Great Fun

If you are visiting DC this is a great way to see the sights and learn a little bit about your camera and take home some great memories. It's also a great way for locals to take an afternoon and low down and relax! David is a great host and very personable and is willing to share his knowledge for photographers of all skill levels.

Georgetown Glow

David was a great guide! You can tell he has a passion for photography, and patient when it comes to teaching. I am an experienced photographer, but I even learned a trick! Thanks, David! My friend and I definitely had fun taking pictures in Georgetown. The Safaris in DC are worth every penny and I would highly recommend them to others!

Great Safari

My daughter & I learned a lot about taking photos and all the great features of our cameras. David was great working with both of us, her being a novice and me who started back in the days of film. Highly recommend and already thinking about what class to take next.

Wonderful Experience!

Though I have some photography experience, I still learned more than I expected. David was very thorough, provided excellent direction and we had an enjoyable time seeing the monuments through new eyes. I highly recommend.
