The White House, Its Neighbors, & an Ice Cream Store That is “Making America Sweet Again!”

Our newest workshop in  architectural and  travel photography, takes you to some of the most popular monuments and historic buildings adjoining the White House in Lafayette Park  and ends up with a real treat included in your fee : a  double-dip ice-cream cone served by DC’s newest ice cream store,  Presidential Scoops, whose motto is “Making America Sweet Again!”.(Presidential Scoops, serving world-famous Bassets Ice Cream,  has now been designated as the Official Ice Cream of Washington Photo Safari!)

After an initial orientation in architectural photography, our itinerary includes beautiful tree-lined  Lafayette Park and the 19th century townhouses along its streets, the famous Andrew Jackson Statue,  the White House itself at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW  the statues of the French, German and Polish  soldiers who helped George Washington defeat the British Army, including the Marquis de Lafayette , the Renwick Gallery, (a Smithsonian museum of American crafts), the stately Eisenhower Executive Office Building, designed in the style of 2nd Empire French architecture) the nearby luxurious Hay-Adams HotelSt. Johns Church, (known as the Church of the Presidents) and the Dolley Madison House, all with professional photographer E. David Luria providing tips on architectural photography, and outdoor portraiture. 

We then end the safari by walking over to the nearby Presidential Scoops ice cream store, where we are served with a double dip ice cream waffle cone of your favorite flavor!  We only have 10 spaces available for this safari, first come, first served and scooped!

$79 fee includes ice cream cone!
