Afternoon Cherry Blossoms

Springtime in DC means cherry blossoms, and one of the best places to shoot them is along the Tidal Basin!

On this Safari we teach the principles of travel photography and camera use by wending our way slowly along the Tidal Basin path towards the Jefferson Memorial. We show you great views of the Tidal Basin, Washington Monument, FDR Monument and MLK Jr Memorial, as well as our SECRET “Our Lady of the Blossoms Cherry Tree” all framed in the afternoon sun.

We bring you to all the best trees for cherry blossom portraiture AND to the beautiful George Mason Memorial near the Jefferson. Non-photographer friends/ spouses are welcome to accompany you at no charge.

Disclaimer: Mother Nature has her own way of scheduling the blossoms. Some years they come early in the season, some years they come later. We cannot GUARANTEE full blossoms on the trees on the day of your Safari, but we DO guarantee very useful tips on travel photography and views of the Tidal Basin that are ALWAYS pretty.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is DC's signature springtime event and features daily cultural performances, sporting events, arts & crafts, demonstrations and other special events.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the 103rd anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees and the enduring friendship between the citizens of the United States and Japan.
